A young woman who was seriously injured in a chaotic road accident in Seacroft was said to be in a "stable" condition in hospital today.
A car carrying five young adults smashed into a parked car and ended up on its roof at 5.10 on Saturday morning.

The parked vehicle was hurled onto its side and hurtled 100 feet down the road hitting other vehicles.

Three of the young people in the first car were injured, one of them seriously. A fourth suffered minor injuries and the driver is believed to have escaped unhurt.

Police said the driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Firefighters had to free one trapped woman passenger who had serious head injuries.

The accident happened in South Parkway at Seacroft in east Leeds at 5am Saturday morning.

Firefighters said the five young people had been partying and were heading for a 24-hour supermarket to buy beer.
Watch manager Chris Duggan from Stanks fire station said: "One man had a lucky escape. He had got into his car to go to work. He'd forgotten something so got out and went back into his house. His car was hit and knocked 100-feet down the road onto its side."

Mr Duggan said: "The driver was unhurt and the police were dealing with him. The front passenger had got out. Of the three in the back one was thrown clear, one walked out and then collapsed, and then there was a female trapped upside down with head injuries, a fractured skull. She was panicking. We pulled her out."

The three injured people were taken to St James's hospital.
Police said the five young people were in a blue Vauxhall Vectra. Other vehicles involved in the collision were a black Vauxhall Vectra, blue Vauxhall Meriva and Citroen Picasso.
Police have appealed for witnesses to ring 0113 241 3730.
