Several local residents reported seeing the bright orange ball flying over at around 7pm on Wednesday, September 30.

The round, flame-like ball was spotted moving at speed before slowing down over the Stanks Drive area.

Seacroft Today even managed to obtain some mobile phone footage of the strange phenomenon.

One onlooker said: "It definitely didn't look like a plane as there were no lights on the wing or the tail. And there was no noise at all.

"It was moving pretty fast as well, I don't know what it was."
