Drug dealer caught after being photographed from West Yorkshire Police helicopter as he delivered cocaine, cannabis and MDMA to a house in Leeds

Sasha Stewart was arrested after officers were alerted to a property in Bramley and found him hiding in the loft.
Leeds Crown Court heard the arrest was made on April 1 this year, a day after Stewart was seen behaving suspiciously in an Audi car in Roundhay.

Hide AdCarmel Pearson, prosecuting, said police officers were in Roundhay on March 31 dealing with people they suspected were in breach of lockdown regulations.
An officer became suspicious when he spotted a car being driven by Stewart suddenly slow down.
Stewart then turned around and drove off but was followed by the officer.
The defendant managed to drive off but a registration number plate check revealed that the vehicle was uninsured.

Hide AdThe officer circulated details of the car among colleagues and identified it as a wanted vehicle.
Miss Pearson said the Audi was spotted being driven in the Bramley area the next day by officers in the West Yorkshire Police helicopter.
Stewart was pictured getting out of the car holding a plastic bag before going into a house.
Officers on the ground were informed and went to the property.

Hide AdTwo women answered the door and were reluctant to help the officers who went inside and found Stewart hiding in the loft.
The plastic bag he had been carrying was found to contain cocaine, MDMA and cannabis.
More of the class A and B drugs were found in the Audi.
The prosecutor said the total street value of the drugs was £3,680.
Stewart, 30, struggled with the officers as he was handcuffed.

Hide AdStewart, of South Farm Road, Gipton, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, MDMA and cannabis with intent to supply, resisting a police constable and driving while disqualified.
Stewart has previous for drug dealing. He was locked up for three and a half years in 2017 for a drug trafficking offence.
Charles Blatchford, mitigating, said the father-of-two pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage.
Mr Blatchford said Stewart had written a letter to the court which demonstrated a genuine remorse for his offending and an insight into the harm drugs have on society.

Hide AdThe barrister said Stewart had been trying to turn his life around and provide for his family but was forced into settling an old drug debt by dealing on behalf of other criminals.
Stewart was jailed for five years and seven months.
