Hide AdLeeds Crown Court heard Lambert argued with his partner after they had been drinking at his home in Middleton on December 27 last year.
Lambert left the property to go to her own home nearby after he became abusive. The defendant also went to the property where he carried out the attack.
The woman fell to the ground and Lambert “straddled” her before punching her repeatedly to the face.
Lambert continued to humiliate the woman by mimicking her pleas for him to stop the attack.

Lambert, of Middleton Park Grove, Middleton, denied the attack but was found guilty of common assault after a trial.
Antony Farrell, mitigating, said Lambert’s grandfather had died in the defendant’s arms earlier on the day of the attack.
He said Lambert was upset because he had been very close to him. Mr Farrell said Lambert was sorry for what he had done and had not drunk alcohol since the incident.

“Only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified.”
