Plea hearing of man accused of murder over fatal stabbing at house in Beeston adjourned for four months

Paul Kavanagh, 57, was expected to enter a plea over the death of 51-year-old Jamie Giles at a house on Bismarck Street when he appeared at Leeds Crown Court yesterday (May 10).
Mr Giles died after being stabbed at the property on Thursday April 8.

Hide AdKavanagh, of Bismarck Street, appeared in court via a video link from prison for the brief hearing.
The murder charge was not put to the defendant and the case was adjourned to allow time for the preparation of reports.
Kavanagh will next appear in court on September 6.
A provisional trial date has been set for November 22.
A trial is expected to last around five days if Kavanagh pleads not guilty.
Kavanagh was returned to custody after the hearing.
