Oldroyd and Sons are no ordinary fruit and vegetable vendor. They are one of the most well-known rhubarb growers in West Yorkshire and have had a whole host of famous celebrities pay a special visit to their farm to sample their products.

The business began in the 1930s after the Great Depression, when John Richard Oldroyd decided to branch out from the original family farm in Wisbech to start a brand new venture of his own.

Since then, the farm has grown from strength-to-strength and the farm is now in the hands of Janet Oldroyde-Hulme, who has been dubbed ‘High Priestess of Rhubarb’ for her horticultural expertise.

Raymond Blanc, Rick Stein and Brian Turner are among the many celebrity chefs that have paid a visit to the farm.
