Gritters out in Leeds as more snow forecast in cold blast

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice as drivers are urged to be prepared.
Temperatures are set to plummet to 1C overnight with sleet and snow forecast between 4am and 7am on Friday morning.

Hide AdLeeds City Council has warned drivers to take care as it sends gritters out at 7.30pm tonight and 4am on Friday.
The city's primary routes and key cycle routes will be treated, along with some pavements in the city centre.
A council spokesperson said: "A mostly cloudy night with wintry showers which may leave a covering of snow, mainly over hills but possibly down to lower levels.
"Road surfaces at or below freezing again, so expect icy conditions.

The yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Leeds is in place from Thursday at 5pm until Friday at 11am.
The Met Office warning says to expect icy surfaces on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
Some roads and railways are likely to be affected, it adds, with longer journey times by road, bus and train.
